Happy New Year!

I would like to first wish everybody a Happy New Year. I had a very busy year last year and I don't see it slowing down anytime soon but thanks be to GOD that He gives me the strength to make it.

St. Luke celebrated it's first annual watch night service on the eve of 2011 and what a VERY GOOD WORSHIP EXPERIENCE it was. From the time Rev. Durham gave the call to worship and the choir opened up with "Lord I lift your name on high" it was on like a pot of neckbones. The testimonies were terrific telling how good GOD had been in 2010. We had another big surprise "The Brotherhood of St. Luke" set the place on fire with "Trouble in my way" the place was on fire.

On Saturday I had the pleasure to attend and give the invocation at the IMC's annual emancipation proclamation worship experience at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and what an experience it was. Awards were given out to Mrs. Lucille Leggett who is a workforce in the Russell community which happens to be the community where "The Luke" resides and Mr.& Mrs. Blair who started the Westend school for boys. The incoming Mayor of Louisville spoke and the Antioch Baptist Church choir blessed our souls in song. The message was given by none other than the pastor of St. Stephen Baptist Church and The president of Simmons College of Kentucky. He spoke from Isaiah 36:8 "Two Thousand Horses" all I'm going to say is umm,umm GOOD. My thanks go out to Rev. Frank M. Smith for the diligent work he does in the community also.
The word came from Psalm 29: 1,2 & 11. "You've Got to Give to Get". We are always asking GOD to do for us, but what do we do for him is the question. We're always GETTING but doing very little giving to GOD. Now we aren't talking about money but what the scripture is saying give him the GLORY & WORSHIP due His name. We are always asking before we give. The bible says it is better to give than to recieve anyway. If we want to start 2011 off on the right note, we've got to give GOD what is due to him. When we make our New Years resolutions we can't leave GOD out, that's why we fall short on those resolutions, because we don't ask GOD to see us through on what we attempt to do. The service was off da CHAIN!

Sunday morning started off real good, it seems like what was going on Friday night was still happening Sunday morning. The word was TEAMWORK I Corinthians 3:1-9. Paul was telling the story about him and Apollos working together, not against each other and with them working together doing what GOD wanted them to do he added the increase. The scripture said that we are his husbandry meaning his farmers, so all we do is the farm work, he makes it grow. Let's work together, no big I's and little U's. We are all ONE. That's what Jesus said in his prayer in John 17 is that we be ONE. It's going to take TEAMWORK to push this and any ministry to the next level where HE wants it to be. So if you want to win get on GOD's team and we will all be winners. We can share the work, the responsibility and then we will share in the success. God Bless U. :-)
