The First Day on Dry Ground/Will you Make Time for JESUS?

What a day, What a day at "The Luke". We embarked on a new journey today, starting our Early Morning Worship Experience for one hour. In by 9 out by 10 "Power Hour". Our praise team really did the doggone thang this morning, getting us in right mode to worship. "Lord I lift Your Name on High". We had a real nice crowd and everybody seemed to be touched by the experience. We preached from Genesis 8: 13-16; "The First Day on Dry Ground" talking about starting something new, be it a new job, new relationship, new year or even a new worship experience. You have to be the sure the ground is dry before you step on it. Who dries the ground? JESUS that's who! The first thing you have to do is let GOD test the ground first before you step out, and that takes patience, remember they that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength, wait I say on the Lord. And you can't step out on slippery ground, even though the ground may seem dry on the surface, it could possibly be soggy or even muddy on the bottom. Let GOD test it then you will know what's on the bottom. Then we have to seek fertile ground. See we have to trust GOD to show us where the fertile ground is. Your relationship with GOD makes you unique, it gives you a strong faith in GOD, makes you wise in other aspects of your life too. So why cut yourself off from the source that shows you where the fertile ground is. Many of us didn't wait on GOD last year to show us where the good, fertile and dry ground was at, but I'm so glad that HE can repot us if we mess up (I better stop, call the church and order a cd). I would like to thank Sis. Georgette Taylor for job well done in Sunday School this morning.

The 11: 15 experience was just as good, the choir really blessed our hearts this morning in preparing us for the WORD. We preached from John 1: 29-42 "Will you make time for JESUS? We are sure we make time for work, school, family and all our extra curricular activities, but we say we don't have time for JESUS! GOD has given us so many amenities to make our life more pleasant and save us time, microwaves, 10 minute oil changes, 30 minute caryout foods, DVR'S to record our favorite programs so we can watch them at our own convenience, and we still don't have time to come to church on Sunday, bible study and other church events. The first thing we need to do is see JESUS, John saw JESUS coming and said Behold the Lamb of GOD which taketh away the sins of the world. We see JESUS, but we really don't see HIM for who he really is. You can come to church, hear all the right words but still don't see HIM for who HE really is. The next thing that happened was Andrew & Peter spent time with HIM, the KJV said they abode with him, NIV said they spent the day with HIM, we have got to spend some time with HIM to get to know HIM. Then we have to follow HIM, vs. 40 said they followed HIM they didn't just hear a good word and then go home and not even remember what was said. We have to do like Andrew & Peter stop fishing and take up our cross and follow HIM! Call the church for a CD.
