"A Crazy Faith"

What a day, What a day, What a day We had at the Luke today! from the time the choir sung "Grateful" the mood was set. The house was onfire. We (God & Me) preached about "A Crazy Faith that makes a whole lot of sense". Sometime it is hard to maintain a healthy mind and spirit when everything is going crazy around you. The text focused in on an elderly, God loving couple who had no children. The prophet Elisha would always stop by their house to spend a night. He would come by so often that they fixed him up a room to stay whenever he would come by. They were so good to him that he asked GOD to bless them with a child and He did.

But then the boy died and the woman did not panic she said "It IsWell". She was not crazy she believed in the Power of GOD. As believers we should be able to deal with reality rather than reject it. Mental health is defined as the ability to be dedicated to reality and truth at all costs. She wasn't crazy because she dealt with the reality that the son GOD had given her was dead and He was the only one that could bring him back.

If you know GOD you can maintain a spiritual balance and you won't get knocked off your feet by little stuff.

The single most important thing you have to do is "Keep your eyes stayed on Jesus"  When your eyes are fixed on Jesus everybody around you can be going crazy and you will say It Is Well. Keep your eyes on Jesus and He will see you through.

I am on my way to The Union Missionary Baptist where my good friend Robert Carr is the angel of that church, to preach their 81st Anniversary. As my cousin Roni would always say "Little Bit Later"

God's Formula for Action

St. Luke, St. Luke, St. Luke! Oh how I love Her. The Luke was on fire today, His presence was truly felt. We do have a good time at "The Luke", but its more to christianity than having a good time at church. I believe a change ought to come. In 2 Corinthians 5: 17 Paul states that: "Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons!" This is from the message bible but the NKJV says it like this: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passewd away, behold all things become new". All means all and that is all that all means. If you are a christian a change should have come over you. We should be different from the way we were B.C. (Before Christ). We shouldn't be back biting, hatin' on each other, indifferent, thinking we are better than others, etc. We know the rest, we know what we do that we shouldn't be doing in church or outside of the church. We are stunting the growth of the Kingdom.

The problem with the church is that we act worse than the world, that's what is stunting the growth of the kingdom. We look at church as a social club, night club for Sunday Morning, not as the hospital that is. You don't go to the hospital and leave the same way you come, you get healed. So when you come to the House of God and you get saved you should be different, a new life should burgeon! Stop stunting the growth of the Kingdom! CHANGE!

Today we (Me & God) preached about "God's Formula for Action". James 2: 14- 24. I love that 20th verse. Faith without works is dead. Our faith alone is not enough, Paul said that if we believe and confess and then we shall be saved (C+B=S) and that is true, but I like how James added something else to it. He said we need a little more, we need some action and it has to be GOD centered action, and on top of that we need to spread the word, we need to evangelize, we need to tell somebody, Matthew said we have to let your light so shine before men that they will see your good works and glorify your father which is in heaven. Faith without works isn't faith at all. So what James is saying is (F+W) X U2= God Centered Action. Faith + Works x's you telling somebody about the love of GOD = God Centered Action.

We can't leave out any part of God's equation. We have to work it, just like He told us to. So let's work the formula and see God make a change in our lives, in our homes, in our communities and even in our churches. I'm Out! Holla!

"Going from a Good Church to a Great Church" (Fifth Street Baptist Church 181st Anniversary)

We had a blast tonight at The Historic Fifth Street helping to celebrate their anniversary. I love the chance to preach for my pastor & my home church. I also love my CHURCH "The Luke", they showed up and showed out. The Reverend Robert E. Childs, who passed away last week usually preaches this revival, so it was a joy and a privilege to do this.

We preached from Ephesians 1: 15-23 "A Great Church" . First we have to realize that We are the body of Christ. Not just our church but the universal church. We complete the Spiritual Body of Christ.
We embody the Power of Christ. We represent the greatness of Christ's Power. We show the world who Christ is. Sometime it seems like Christ is so far away, Paul said We are Christ, the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
We complete the work of Christ. We can't find deliverance, knowledge, guidance, perfect assurance or the true meaning of life. We've been charged to go into all the world and make disciples, to teach, to baptize in the name of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirt. We've got work to do.
