My Wonderful Sunday

Even though it was raining outside the Lord caused The SON to shine on my day as He always does.

It started out in Owensboro Ky. at the Zion Baptist Church to celebrate the 34th Anniversary of my dear friend Rev. Larry Lewis. The spirit was very high in the place. My sermon was entitled "After all these years what shall I preach" 2Timothy 4: 1-3. Preach Jesus, be instant in season and out, when they want to hear you and when they don't. Study to shew thyself approved a workman rightly dividing the word of truth. If you are studied up & prayed up the Lord will give you a word, and make it fresh. Truly a word from GOD!

After a safe trip back to Louisville in the rain (thanks to a very safe driver) :-) we arrived at the Day Spring Missionary Baptist Church (where the pastor is my good friend Rev. John Campbell) right on time to hear the beautiful voices of "The St. Luke Sanctuary Choir" that I missed so much this morning.

I preached about an "Attitude of Grattitude" Matt. 2: 7,8; Luke 2: 7, 25. We preached about how we have very bad attitudes when it comes to CHURCH, and how King Herod and us have attitudes of hostility, how he didn't want anybody to take over his kingdom so he wants to kill Jesus, how he said one thing with his lips and another with his actions. Just like us.

Next was an attitude of indifference, we don't want to help the pastor, we ain't against the pastor either we are just stuck in the middle somewhere. Like the innkeeper who didn't try to find someone to let Mary use their bed to have the baby Jesus. He didn't have anything against Mary & Joseph but he didn't do anything to help them either, Just Like Us.

Next was an Attitude of Spiritulality. Simeon had an attitude of Spirituality, because He believed what God had promised him through the Holy Spirit, that he wasn't going to leave this earth until he got to see The Son of the Living GOD. I'm here to tell you that whatever GOD promises will happen. Simeon went to the Church House and there was the baby Jesus and he picked him up and held him in his arms, and went to Die in Peace because he had seen the Messiah.

We ned to have a attitude of grattitude, we need to thank the Lord for all that he's done (all means all and that's all that all means).

That was "My Wonderful Sunday"

"Let's Focus on the Positive"

Oh what a time we had at "The Luke" today. The Spirit was high from the beginning of the experience. I would like to give a special Thank You to the associate ministers of St. Luke for putting us in the mode for worship this morning. Thanks.

We preached about Focusing on the Positive Philippians 1: 12-26. We focused on how Paul, even though he was in prison still was focused on the furtherance of the gospel.

He was writing to the church at Phillipi about how to live was good but to die in christ was better. He was only worried about the advancement of the gospel even if it meant he had to die. We have a GOD that can turn a negative into a positive and He, in the midst of all negativity and produce positive results.

Our revival starts tomorrow and theme is "Focus on the Positive Things" Philippians 4:8. We have a great line up of preachers, trying to do something different this year and give the congregation a variety of preachers. Tomorrow we have Rev. Gerald Joiner, Pastor of Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Tuesday - Rev. Kevin Nelson - Pastor of First Baptist Church of Jeffersontown and last but not least we have Rev. Frank M. Smith Jr. - Christ Church for our Community on Wednesday. Remember "Focus on the Positive".

St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church
"Spring Revival"
Focus on the Positive Things - Philippians 4: 8

Welcome from the Pastor:

Welcome to The St. Luke MBC Spring Revival. I am elated that you have decided to share this time with us. I greet you in the name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and want you to make yourselves at home, do whatever the spirit leads you to do.

Our thought for our revival is “Focus On The Positive Things” Philippians 4: 8 We have been feeling a great change coming over our congregation in Spirit, Attitude, Praise, Worship and Giving. We want to hold on to this change and take it as far as the Lord wants us to go with it. “Where He Leads Us We Will Follow”. We want to be transformed, renewed, changed and improved. (“Lord Please Send Us a Revival”) To our visitors we want you to share also in this experience with us, so that you can go back to your churches with “New Attitudes”.

We are blessed by God to have three of the most sought after preachers and teachers in the city and nation in our midst this week as we revive our spirit with the Word of God and “Encourage Ourselves to Focus on The Positive Things”, and I would like to personally thank these great preachers of the Gospel for taking time out of their schedules to come out and share the Gospel with us.

I know we will all be blessed as God allows his spirit to fall fresh on us this week. So let’s come together on one accord and pray that this will be a week of that will be pleasing to God. Please except our humble welcome in His presence.
